Verizon and AT&T mobile phone carriers are racing to build 5G networks in Cleveland. The 5g networks are built on much smaller cells than current cellular systems. They are looking to launch their service by the end of 2019/early 2020. Verizon thinks end of 2019 and AT&T are saying early 2020. 5g technology is promised to have data speeds 50 to 100 times faster than 4g LTE networks. Right now those are the only carrier and each one is investing millions of dollars building systems in Cleveland.
