It's a good idea to set up your router's wireless network name and password so that nearby users can't use your connection without your knowledge. It is fairly easy to do, but for those who want their router already configured when it arrives, we can set up your router with the network name and password of your choice before shipping for $15. If this option is selected, you will be prompted to provide your desired network name and password at checkout.

This is the NEW version of the MAX-BR1-MINI-LTE-US that utilizes a Cat 4 LTE modem instead of Cat 3. Only Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile are supported. Users of other carriers should purchase the Cat 6 LTE-Advanced model.

The Pepwave MAX BR1 Mini is the ideal mobile broadband router for fleet management, video surveillance, kiosks and other M2M applications. This rugged metal router comes with an embedded modem that is compatible with 4G LTE networks in the US, including Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. Two redundant SIM slots are available that can be used for separate carriers, and by using the FusionHub Central Management settings, the router can be set to automatically switch off if you reach a data cap or cross a country border. Advanced GPS fleet tracking is built into every MAX BR1 Mini so you can manage and monitor buses, taxi cabs, semi-trucks and other commercial vehicles. This can be done from any Internet-connected device when you use Peplink’s InControl cloud management system. Even if the primary line is down, you can still gather data and configure devices by using an RS-232 port adapter that supports out-of-band management and provides an Ethernet LAN port. Any power source will be secure as well when you use the included AC terminal block for reliable power distribution in vehicles, ATMs and other non-standard locations.

With a BR1 Mini mobile router, users can experience 4G LTE throughput speeds of up to 100 Mbps that have the integrated security of Pepwave’s SpeedFusion VPN and AES encryption. This customizable networking tool can be used as a single-device primary cellular connector or as an adapter to provide cellular data service to a non-enabled router. It comes with four antennas for cellular, Wi-Fi and GPS. This lightweight router is backed by 5Gstore’s expert mobile broadband knowledge and leading customer support. Learn more by downloading the product brochure below or reading the MAX BR1 Mini customer reviews.

The optional failover/WAN license (see above) enables the WAN port (to support wired cable/DSL connections), the WiFi as WAN feature (to pick up external WiFi networks), and failover. If you do NOT need those features, you do not need the additional license (if you decide you want them in the future, the license can be purchased any time to unlock those features). If you only plan to use the cellular connection, you do not need the optional license!

We probably have well over 50 of the older version of these modems operating around the world… with the onset of 40 and now 5G we assume the older version of the modem‘s would be keeping up with technology but they did it… We purchased a couple of these modems to test and we’re completely blown away by the significant exponential increase and speed and data throughput that these are capable of .. using the BR1 from three years ago and Los Angeles we were getting speeds of about 20 Mbps… We took the same Sim card out put it in a brand new BR one and have consistently been hitting somewhere between 110 and 127 MBPS ... I don’t think I need to say anything else the numbers speak for itself… I will say that the 5Gstore has been our go to store since they were called the 3G store… Dario makes purchasing things on a very short notice extremely easy and their technical support regardless of the issue will either walk you through the solution or will find a solution for you and call you back with it… We are extremely satisfied with the 5Gstore and with the peplink BR1 mini

Great at cell reception with external antenna. WiFi signal strength is a bit disappointing, but adequate

Got it working with minimal effort. The hardist thing that I did was to get my refrigerator working, I had to turn it off by finding the breaker which was a little hard to do. Then it took effort to figure out how to turn the icemaker on. So far, everthing is working. Now, I need to get the Cellular connection working.

Great item

Giving this rating at this point only because a review was requested. The order, shipping and receive process was great, no issues at all. However, the instructions on how to install, as well as the details on each part received, was terribly lacking in adequate instructions as to what everything is for, and how to correctly install and setup. Because of this, I’ve yet to install it, and therefore currently have no further opinion on the product, etc. Once I get it installed, IF everything goes well and it performs as it should, I will be better situated to provide more useful feedback.

There are 2 VOIP extensions in my home office. Prior to the Covid-19 events, these worked well for 5 years via the cable companies high-spreed internet. This year, call quality took a big turn for the worse. The other, mostly non-demanding, internet tasks were still OK. We decided to move just the phones to another internet provider, Verizon Wireless. It's still early, but call quality is greatly improved with no reports yet by customers of "you're breaking up." So far, very favorably impressed with the product and with support from 5G Store.

Overall a must get in my opinion. We are trying them out for our fleet and so far it has showed to be a great solution. Quality feels good and for the price it is a great deal. Make sure you create your online account to unlock all of it's features.

Fired up

Perhaps I have not yet learned how to manipulate the Mini yet, but so far, its connection is no faster than a Netgear hotspot I have running in parallel. We are literally 300' from the cell tower (ATT), so signal strength is not an issue. Perhaps the limiting factor is what service(s) are available from the cell site? I like how easy it was to set up and get running, and the accessory antennas do a good job in my location.
