The Un-carrier announced significant permanent enhancements to its 5G coverage and capacity, ensuring a superior experience for both local customers and visitors attending the festivities.
Network Upgrades to Keep Up with the Game
Ulf Ewaldsson, President of Technology at T-Mobile, emphasized the importance of a reliable network for fans. “Between fastballs, curveballs, homeruns, and stolen bases, fans need a network that can keep up with it all,” said Ewaldsson. T-Mobile’s upgrades promise just that, extending beyond the stadium to benefit the entire Arlington area.

- 100% 5G Coverage: The stadium now boasts complete 5G coverage, including T-Mobile’s fastest Ultra Capacity 5G (5G UC) and 200MHz of mmWave 5G.
- High-Speed Downloads and Uploads: With peak speeds of 1.6 Gbps for downloads and 100 Mbps for uploads, fans can download movies like “The Sandlot” in just 5 seconds.
- Wider Coverage: Key locations in Arlington’s entertainment district, such as Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center, Texas Live!, and Choctaw Stadium, have received permanent 5G upgrades.
- Expansive Reach: T-Mobile now covers 99% of Arlington with 5G UC, offering more customers access to their fastest 5G network.
Temporary Enhancements for All-Star Week
To handle the influx of visitors, T-Mobile is deploying additional temporary enhancements:
- Mobile Units: Cell on Wheels (CoWs) and Cell on Light Trucks (CoLTs) will be positioned in key areas around the stadium to boost capacity. This ensures that fans can stream, share, and stay connected without interruption, perfect for tailgate parties and other festivities.
