was expecting truly omni directional capture of wifi signal, but it seems that turning the antenna on its side and “pointing” it toward wifi signal makes a big difference. however, the external antenna definitely boosts signal strength vs built in units. also, be careful when ordering to get the correct connectors (qma/rma etc) although it can be corrected if you need extension cables as I did.

Better than expected. With the paddle antennas I connected to one channel of AT&T @13.3 down and 3.89 up. I was just checking install locations and temporarily installed the 42g inside under the cap of my motorhome. In this location I connected to four channels of AT&T 48.2 down and 18.6 up. I am going to leave it in this location for now and avoid drilling a hole through the roof.
