14 years... 14 long years I have waited for some type of high speed internet. I live just outside cable or phone line DSL. Tried Hughsnet and a couple of other things. No dice.. Verizon said "hey we are putting in 4G towers in your area".. Yippie right?? Well after the dust settled on the 4G tower thing I was 2 miles away from a 4G signal with my Droid Razr (which I have an unlimited internet plan with). Frustration sets in after 5 or 6 calls to Verizon to see when the next round of 4G towers will happen (next year).. I call 3G Store to research what I need to pull that 4G signal on into my home. They were very good at helping me put together a system that would help. Okay I research everything to death so after the 3rd call I order this Wilson Sleek 4G Signal Booster. I also ordered a Wilson outdoor directional antenna. After testing different areas of my home I am now getting 4G signal at my home :) My wife says "don't mount that antenna on the house"... Well I kinda knew that was coming. So I went to the attic just to see if it would work in the attic. Just so the men out there know I am not scared of my wife and would have put it on the front porch by the door if it wouldn't have worked but it did(I did not back down, it just keeps things manageable when you conform to their wishes sometimes). I mounted it (directional antenna) in the attic and it works great. It worked just as good in the attic as outside. I ran the wire into an extra bedroom and hooked the Sleek up. 4G.. Strong 4G. I was getting .7 MBPS (on 3G) before and I am now getting 20MBPS download and about 1 MBPS upload. I dont think the antenna alone would have done the trick. You need this Sleek also. I would have paid twice what I paid for this stuff to get this kind of speed. Now I just need to figure out a way to keep Verizon from shutting down my unlimited plan on my phone.
