Peplink Balance One Core Load Balancing Router
[BPL-ONE-CORE]

In comparison to the Balance 30 which I own, the Balance ONE is a plastic case with no ground screw. To ground the device you must solder a ground wire to a shielded RJ45 plug and insert into an unused port.

The Balance has a much more powerful processor than the Balance 30 and is capable of true my routing a larger volume of traffic. The extra CPU power enables the ability of website filtering for classes of websites such as porn and advertising. Neat feature which the Balance 30 doesn't have.

As always the Peplink product is solid and stable. Well refined with minimal bugs. It is what a consumer grade router SHOULD be. It will be a tremendous upgrade for those coming from Linksys and Netgear.

The bottom line for This product is it is a little on the expensive side. However this is offset by its ease of use interface and REAL phone and email support by both 5gstore and Peplink. These people answer the phone.

For example, I emailed my balance 30 configuration file to Peplink and they printed out every configuration page for me and emailed it back to me so I had my old settings when setting up my new Balance One.

The Balance 30 has a lithium battery built in for some purpose. Those are good for 4-5 years then must be changed. The Balance One doesn't use a battery.

The only gripes with the Balance One is lack of rack mount kit and NO GROUNDING screw attachment. If you want a router that never requires rebooting and has some protection from surge it must be grounded/bonded to your other network equipment to equalize the ground reference voltage among all equipment. Same is true for your network switch, cable modem, etc.
