Epic Fail. AT&T Micro SIM to 2FF standard doesn't fit in the adapter. Just a "tad" too wide and too long. I cut up the SIM and taped it. But it is still too "wide" and it got stuck in the modem (the Cradlepoint MC400LP6 modem. A $450 modem - which you don't want to wreck due to a cheesy SIM adapter issue.) I did manage to get the SIM out.
AT&T doesn't have 2FF SIMS at the store. I had to order it online from AT&T and it has been on back order for a month. I call and chat to check... but AT&T can't give me what they don't have. They don't make 2FF - technology has moved on.
Cradlepoint has a lot of nerve charging me $1,100 for a router set up with a modem whose hardware for "SIM" is so outdated I can't get one.
I have now cut up and wrecked the SIM size so I can't put it back into the BlackBerry Z30 it was running... a new adapter from a different company won't work because again - I cut up the SIM. I will now have to go purchase a bunch of adapters... take them to the AT&T store and see if I can get any SIM they have to a 2FF.
I also may return the Cradlepoint AER2100 router. I don’t want to get past the “30 day return policy” only to find out I can’t find a SIM to run in it.
Am I pissed? I have been talking, ordering and working to get the "SIM" issue solved for this modem/router for over a month. I am pissed at just about everybody right now.
