The SOHO MK3 has not performed exactly up to my expectations. Ill give the positive review first. The menu system is pretty well laid out but it is advisable to play with it for several hours to become acclimated to some of the less-than-obvious locations of some of the settings. The auto failover via the USB cellular modem works very well. The modem is configured to stay disconnected (ie "hot standby") until needed then it is automatically set to a connected state only when the primary WAN link goes down. Once the WAN link comes back online, the router falls back to the WAN link and places the modem back to a disconnected state.
Before giving the negative review, let me say that I am currently working with 5GStore tech support with a VLAN problem. As it stands right now, we are thinking there could be a problem with the router. The VLAN problem I mentioned is devices (ex network printer) located in different VLANs can not access each other. The printer must be located in the same VLAN as the computer(s) before I can print. I have also tested connectivity between computers across VLANs and they also can not access each other. Another thing that seems not to be working correctly is Event Logging for denied access. The old router would log 10-20 denied access events per day but this one seems to only log 5-10 events just after restarting the router but nothing after that.
I will give an update after the problem is resolved.
