The Pepwave MAX BR1 Mini with Cat 4 LTE Modem provides a reliable hotspot for constant connectivity. The Pepwave MAX BR1 Mini comes with a 1 x 10/100M Ethernet port and 1 x embedded Cat 4 LTE Modem with a redundant SIM slot for failover support. It also includes easy management, thanks to the drop-in mode function. It is a compact size that measures 4.1” x 4.3” x 1.2” and weighs in at a feather-light .54 lb. Although it’s small, it’s also rugged and is rated for shock and vibration resistance; additionally, it is compatible with railway and electromagnetic applications.
Ideal for mobile use, this Pepwave broadband router will most likely be used in M2M applications, such as video surveillance and kiosks. The optional failover/WAN license (see above) enables the WAN port (to support wired cable/DSL connections), the WiFi as WAN feature (to pick up external WiFi networks), and failover. If you do NOT need those features, you do not need the additional license (if you decide you want them in the future, the license can be purchased any time to unlock those features). If you only plan to use the cellular connection, you do not need the optional license!

FirstNet and T-Mobile B71 Ready The MAX BR1 Mini will be able to connect to wireless networks in LTE Band 71, which is used by T-Mobile for its newer 600 MHz spectrum licenses. It also supports operation on 700 MHz Band 14 — the spectrum licensed to FirstNet.
Out of Band Management and M2M Telemetry: Manage and configure your networking devices securely even if the primary line is not available. Gather data from meters, sensors and other remote equipment via RS-232 serial port adapter (sold separately) .
Customizable Captive Portal: Branding your captive portal is as easy as uploading your logo and terms & conditions. You can easily set bandwidth allowance and access duration per user.

Terminal Block for Secure Power Supply: The MAX BR1 Mini is equipped with a terminal block for secure power installation in vehicles and other locations.

I replaced a pFsense firewall, a WiFi router, and a WiFi to WiFi router, and a Celular Modem, with this one piece of equipment. I did have to purchase the extra $99 license to make everything work. If using WiFi as a WAN, please note, your bandwidth will reduce by half, as it has to recive and send traffic on the same transmitter. You can add an AP to bring your speed back up to full, if you like.

I replaced a pFsense firewall, a WiFi router, and a WiFi to WiFi router, and a Celular Modem, with this one piece of equipment. I did have to purchase the extra $99 license to make everything work. If using WiFi as a WAN, please note, your bandwidth will reduce by half, as it has to recive and send traffic on the same transmitter. You can add an AP to bring your speed back up to full, if you like.
