Huawei’s 5G Foldable Smartphone

5G is on its way to Chicago

A large thick cable that is coiled up laying on the roof of a parking garage in snow will be helping bring the 5G service to Chicago. Telecommunications Contractors will be installing this equipment for Sprints 5G Network. The installation of the 5G equipment will take place throughout Chicago. Equipment will be installed on top of many buildings and structures as Sprint works at bringing 5G. The new generation of 5G will bring lightning fast download speeds and change the way society operates.

The new 5G service will be up to 20 times faster than 4g LTE services, said Jonathan Hart the director of the government affairs from Houston based telecommunications infrastructure company. As other telecommunications experts argue that these speeds are an understatement.

LG to unveil first 5G phone next month

LG’s yet-to-be-named first 5G smartphone will be unveiled on February 24th at Mobile World Congress, sporting a Snapdragon 855 processor, a vapor chamber, and a 4,000 mAh battery.

LG Electronics will unveil its first 5G smartphone at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the company has announced.

It will be announced on the 24th of February at Center de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona (CCIB) — at the same date and location LG will be unveiling its G8 smartphone — and showcased to visitors until the tradeshow ends on the 28th.

Verizon CEO Released Info

Verizon CEO Released info on Tuesday targeting markets such as 5G home and 5G commercial. Offering faster throughput speeds and the low latency of the 5G Verizon backed network. Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg mentions that 5G will bring new and exciting services such as Apple music to some of the data plans, also adding Netflix style gaming services. AT&T Reveals 5G road map

AT&T plans to roll-out a nationwide, fifth-generation wireless network for businesses in 2020, the company said on Monday, intensifying the battle between top cellular providers to be the first to unveil the high-speed offering outside of select U.S. cities.

The Dallas-based firm said its new 5G network, currently available in 12 cities including Atlanta, Dallas, Louisville & New Orleans, will lead to increased earnings and reduced costs for U.S. companies. “The 5G services we’re rolling out and combining with our advanced network capabilities will help businesses fundamentally change for the better,” Mo Katibeh, chief marketing officer at AT&T Business, said in a statement.

People Confused about 5g

Everyone is talking about 5g, but do they really know what it is? More than four out of five Americans have no idea what 5G is, according to a new survey of 2,500 US consumers done exclusively by PCMag.com.  Carriers are not doing a very good job at explaining 5g. Some already think they have it on their phones, but as of right now no phones have 5g. Also, only a few homes have 5g in four small cities.

Ericsson and Huawei Both Test 5G NR at 2.6 GHz

5G deployments from Verizon and AT&T are based on millimeter wave frequencies, but both Ericsson and Huawei are currently testing non-standalone 5G New Radio standard on the 2.6GHz band.

“In the early stage of 5G network deployment, C-Band and 2.6 GHz are undoubtedly the most mainstream frequency bands, Yang Chaobin, president of Huawei’s 5G product line, said. “The industry chain of 2.6 GHz needs to be promoted together.”

Ericsson and Huawei are not alone in understanding that the higher frequencies will be important for 5G. Sprint is already deploying on the 2.5 GHz to bolster its LTE network while they prep for their 5G launch.
