AirLink Vehicle Telemetry is an optional feature that allows fleet management solution providers, developers, and system integrators to collect vehicle telemetry data from the vehicle diagnostic bus in order to create their rich applications and reports. AirLink Vehicle Telemetry is supported on the AirLink GX450 with the AirLink Vehicle Telemetry kit (including the B&B Electronics OBD-II Streamer) or on the AirLink MP70 and LX60WT with a direct connect cable.

Required Accessories for the AirLink GX450

The AirLink Vehicle Telemetry kit is available as an optional accessory from Sierra Wireless and contains the following:

  • OBD-II to Serial Scanner
  • OBD-II Y-Cable
  • Male/Male Serial Cable

Required Accessories for the AirLink MP70

The AirLink MP70 can be connected directly to the vehicle bus using a simple cable, available from Sierra Wireless:

  • OBD-II Y-cable (6001204) or
  • MP70 J1939 Y-cable (6001192)

Required Accessories for the AirLink LX60WT

The AirLink LX60WT can be connected directly to the vehicle bus using a simple cable, available from Sierra Wireless:

  • OBD-II cable (6001153) or
  • J1939 cable (6001154)

In order to start collecting vehicle telemetry data using the kit, you must download and install an AirLink Vehicle Telemetry Application (AVTA). AVTA is an AAF application that is available with an AirLink Management Service (ALMS) account.
