Poynting antennas can be painted as long as you paint it with a paint that contains no metal. Latex paints should work well as do most common spray paints that adhere to plastic. Most paints won't stick very well to the plastic but once the paint is dry, and if you don't handle the sector excessively, the paint should stick to the antenna. Painting should not have any negative effects on the performance of the antenna. You can even use black paint – the carbon which is found in black paint is not enough to cause any signal degradation.
