The SureCall signal meter has the features, functionality and durability professional system installers need at a lower price than other high-end units. This five-band meter measures the local 4G LTE, AWS, PCS and Cellular signal for every major North American carrier. It has three different display modes to provide a digital LCD readout of frequency, bands or block power. Professionals doing site surveys and installation planning will be able to quickly locate dead zones and low-signal areas so they know where to place antennas.

This portable signal meter runs on an included power supply of four rechargeable AAA batteries with extended working life compared to other meters in its class. The back-lit screen makes it usable even in dark environments. Multiple cables are included for connecting the meter to an antenna so you can determine the best alignment. The button controls are easy to use for switching modes or setting screen brightness. Use your SureCall 5-Band Meter indoors or outdoors to get the information needed for better home and office mobile broadband setups.

It is a good product, sturdily built, easy to read once you understand how to use it. It would be better with better documentation and internal storage. It was difficult to figure out how to tell which frequencies were in use by each carrier (you can find that info from the FCC, and it varies based on the test location). It would also be nice if it had an internal storage and a low-cost GPS receiver that would allow you to store readings for a given location. Otherwise you just have to take notes yourself. Finally, be aware - this works in the US only - it does not cover all of the Canadian cellular frequencies.

Can the SureCall Signal detector be used to detect FirstNet?

The signal meter is 5-band supporting only Cellular, PCS, AWS, Verizon LTE, and AT&T LTE.

Can I connect a directional antenna to the SureCall RF Signal Detector (SC-METER-01)?

Yes, that would be recommended just as long as it supports the same cellular frequencies 700-2100MHz.
