Optimized Placement for Cradlepoint 5G and LTE Adapters

For optimal cellular signal reception, Cradlepoint 5G and LTE adapters may need to be positioned in specific indoor or outdoor locations. The Captive Modem mode facilitates the connection of Cradlepoint 5G and LTE adapters to Cradlepoint routers situated in different physical locations, enabling unified performance and management through NetCloud. This setup allows a Cradlepoint router to act as the controller for the Captive Modem adapter accessory, streamlining deployment and management while reducing licensing costs.

In Captive Modem mode, the Cradlepoint adapter accessory appears in NetCloud as a Wi-Fi interface with the same functionality as embedded Wi-Fi radios. It also functions as a modem WAN interface, offering all the capabilities of embedded modems, including Smart WAN Selection, WAN Verify, and failover/failback.
