How many Virtual WAN ports can the Peplink Balance 20X support?

The Peplink Balance 20X supports up to 3 Virtual WAN ports with additional licensing.

Do I have to buy a virtual WAN license for the Peplink Balance 20X if I only need one?

No, as long as you have a valid PrimeCare subscription (aka warranty), you have one virtual WAN license available to you at no additional cost.

Does the Peplink Balance 20x support multiple Ethernet WANs?

Yes. You can increase the WAN options on the Peplink Balance 20X with a USB adapter and/or a Peplink Virtual WAN License.

Does the Peplink Balance 20X support WPA3 encryption?

Yes, as of firmware release 8.3.0, WPA3 is supported on the Peplink Balance 20X.

Does the Peplink Balance 20X HW3 support WiFi WAN connections?

Yes, WiFi WAN is supported as of firmware 8.3.0.

Is the Peplink Balance 20X at hardware revision 3 (HW3)?

Yes, as of March 2023, the Balance 20X that are currently sold are HW3.

Are SIM cards required for basic operation of the Peplink Balance 20X router?

You will need a SIM card and data plan from the carrier of your choice if you want to use cellular internet as the internet connection for the router. If you just plan to use a traditional wired WAN (cable/DSL) then you would not need a SIM card.
